We envision a world where every effort to uphold justice and ensure public safety begins with recognition and respect for our collective humanity and well-being. This means transforming the current justice system to create accountability, capacity for local leadership and healing at the individual, community and system levels.
Mission
The mission of the Center for NuLeadership on Human Justice & Healing (CNHJH) is to shift the paradigm and practice of public safety, justice and accountability from criminal justice to Human Justice. Coined by CNHJH in 2012, Human Justice is an outcomes-driven social change framework to guide and redirect human and financial resources from punishment-oriented systems and pedagogy to more effective, humane, equitable and sustainable solutions.
CNHJH provides research, advocacy and leadership training to formerly and currently incarcerated people, their families, communities, allies and criminal justice professionals to achieve Community Empowerment, System Change and Individual Transformation.
