The Center for NuLeadership on Human Justice and Healing supports people and families impacted by incarceration and poverty.

Please give your end of year gift to the Human Justice Fund and stop the cycle of poverty and incarceration in Brooklyn and beyond.

Your donation will support the provision of Human Rights: income, healthcare, and housing.

• Invest in guaranteed income to stabilize people and families impacted by poverty & incarceration

• Cover costs of healthcare and health insurance for people and families with chronic / serious illness

• Help housing instable people and families sign leases, complete public housing applications, and provide initial financial assistance (security deposit, 1-3 months rent)

Once basic needs are met, people can create the conditions for communities to thrive. Your generosity will also support Human Development:

• Communiversity - an inclusive, barrier-free, no-cost learning space for the community.  Communiversity uplifts the tremendous knowledge that exists in communities and invites community members to build and share their own courses.  We also provide courses taught by leading activists, organizers, academics, researchers, and public intellectuals. Communiversity includes courses such as community organizing, financial independence, cooperative economics, and mutual aid.

• Community ownership programs - helping neighbors pool resources to buy land and property and to become owners in their community.

• NuLegacy Center for Earth and Human Wellness - a special NuLeadership program designed to reconnect Black and Indigenous people to land-based healing and farming and stewardship. NuLegacy fosters reconnection to the land to open pathways for land reparations and land reclamation. Connection to land disrupts the cycles of violence, fear, and trauma caused by the prison industrial complex. The ability to work and live off the land are important skills for building community autonomy.
