Village Takeback is a decriminalization and community takeback program that brings live, on-site community oversight to the NYPD and the justice process. It is an unprecedented opportunity to reimagine our collective power to intervene, divert, and take back our youth from all parts of the criminal legal process. Our interventions result in keeping people out of jail, case dismissals, declines to prosecute, intensive advocacy and care, and most importantly, human connections that change lives journeys, conditions and futures and realize Human Justice.
